Jensens is a traditional bed and breakfast in Beauty Point, Tasmania

In the West Tamar Valley, overlooking the Tamar River, Jensens was originally built as a family home in early 1900’s by Jens August Jensen, a Danish gold migrant. The fine federation homestead has large rooms and high ceilings and is filled with lovely antiques. Its northerly aspect captures all day sun, and its superb garden features a rotunda that is a perfect place to relax with a glass of wine and take in the amazing garden and river views.

A warm welcome awaits you in either the Blue or Rose Room. Both feature queen sized beds, fabulous river views and have ensuite bathrooms, one with a claw foot bath.  Enjoy a glass of port with our compliments in the Drawing Room - a lovely place to relax in front of a roaring log fire on cooler evenings. There’s also an extensive library, stereo, cards and a chess set. Breakfast is served in the dining room or on the rotunda with fresh seasonal fruit and cooked breakfast with home-made preserves, using the best local produce.

In the West Tamar, Jensens is perfectly positioned for the many great wineries. Ask your host about organising a guided tour. Beauty Point has restaurants, cafe's and attractions including Seahorse World and Platypus House. Close by is Narawntapu National Park. The Batman Bridge is a must to visit. We’re moments from the Beaconsfield Mine and Heritage Centre – gold, that is. We're just an hour from the Spirit of Tasmania dock in Devonport and 40 minutes from Launceston Airport.

For groups of up to four couples, please ask us about our neighbouring property, which is situated on the same 2.5-hectare of rambling gardens. Stunning panoramic views can be gained from all accommodation. Book both properties for a reunion, girls weekend or the bridal party.
Beauty Point is fast becoming the ‘go to’ destination in the Tamar Valley for weddings with lovely properties, ample accommodation, superb views, florists, photographers – in fact all the discerning couple need for a day to remember - for more information go to to

We look forward to seeing you in the beautiful Tamar Valley soon.

We enjoyed the peace and comfort of this lovely place very much! Not to forget the lovingly prepared and set breakfast table and the wonderful breakfast. Everything was just perfect. Same procedure next year …… !? We would certainly hope so, but Germany is pretty far away.
